DNS320, slow copy file when using windows explorer, but fast when using ftp.
I am using windows 7, the speed difference could be 2 times.
any one has a idea why.

Thanks

I am not sure about this because we don't use windows here but it could be the difference between the way the operating system handles the SMB and FTP protocols.  We find that FTP is faster than SMB on our OS/2 systems but not that much faster - maybe 10% to 15% not the nearly 200% you are seeing.

Do you have a firewall or virus scanning application that may be performing real-time scans on Explorer, but not FTP? Did you test Windows Explorer throughput on multiple Windows PCs on your LAN to replicate this issue?
