Title: Problems Logging into DNS-325 User Interface
Post by: allenpg on June 12, 2013, 12:17:01 PM
Hi, I've got a DNS-325 (v1.03) and a DIR-865L (v1.03) router. For some reason, I can't access the user interface anymore using this setup (mapped drives through Easy Search work fine). I've tried Chrome, IE, and Safari in both Win7/8 and iOS. I've also reset the DNS-325 to factory defaults. Still, no luck.

What DOES work is plugging the DNS-325 into a Netgear router. I can then access the user interface with no problems at all.

I'm confounded, since it had been working fine for months. Should I reset the DIR-865L to factory defaults? Just curious if anyone else has had this problem and found a solution. Thanks!

-Pete

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router.

I recommend also installing a external GB Network switch after the router and connect all wired LAN clients to the switch. This eliminates un-necessary router processing and improved client to client LAN speed performances. [/list]

Netgear routers use the default IP range of 192.168.1.x, while D-Link uses 192.168.0.x.

Log into the DNS-325 web UI and navigate to Management > Network Management > LAN Setup and make sure DHCP Client is selected. If Static IP is selected and there is an IP address in the 192.168.1.x range, then that is most likely the cause of your access issue.

Thanks for the tips. I ended up setting the DNS-325 for a static IP and reset the router to factory defaults. Everything works fine now.
