Title: iTunes Home Sharing to Apple TV (3rd Gen) problem
Post by: hkccm on June 14, 2013, 11:41:26 PM
I just bought a Apple TV (3rd gen).
And I tested the AirPlay, AirPlay(mirroring) with other iOS device, it works fine.

For itunes home sharing, playing itunes video or photo are OK,
but there is some problem with music playing, the apple tv play one to two songs, then it keep loading. I need to reboot the router, then it function again.

very weird.

Apple TV and PC are connected via wired network.
router setting: Multicast IPV4 enabled, latest firmware.

I think it is the Apple problem.

I contacted Apple Support, he said the Home Sharing technology is something 'old', 'not up-to-date', and they recommend to use it with Apple Wifi Product. :-[

I give up.

Well you might want to try using a different platform. Say using a Windows file server as your media sharing resource. I guess eventually Apple will use something else.
