Post by: hyelton on June 18, 2013, 11:48:04 PM
So I sold my 826L while back to try out a Zxyl Firewall router well NewEgg has a sell thats ending today I can get a new 826L CHEAP! $48 plus I get a $10 rebate!

Well I see that have an older Referb DIR-855 so I`m stuck between the two But the DIR-855 seems to have some issues.

Kewl, I'm waiting on a RMA for mine. D-Link believes mine could have a HW problem and why v1.03 and 4 FW versions don't work on it. I'll keep everyone posted.

Post about your 855 problems in the 855 forum. Maybe we can figure it out.

Well I have been told that v1.04 is stable however I won't be able to confirm it until my new 826L arrives from a tested engineer at D-Link. Thats a great price for this router. I have enjoyed mine even on v1.02 and for me, is the current verified most stable FW version. I'll post my results when I get mine and test it. It was mentioned that HW issues could have been seen and mine was part of that batch. If your in EU, I presume you may not see this issue and using v1.03 and v1.04 will be good.

Does NE have any specials running on the DIR-868L and a DWA-182? I thought someone said that NE was selling the 868L and either giving away the 182 or the cost was half for the adapter. I presume the 836L is a good model too, just faster WiFi connections however if your devices don't support the higher connections, might not need it. Could future proof though.

Also Had two times I had to reboot my cable modem so not sure if it was my ISP or not but for the heck of it I NEVER had to reboot the D-Link Yet.

Not sure my self yet. I'm still waiting on the arrival of the other 826L however I have found a un-official v1.04 beta i'm testing.

One thing I have noticed is that if I connect with one of my 2.4Ghz 450Mb wireless adapters to the 826L, and if HT 20/40 Co-existence is enabled, it only connects at 144Mb. When I disable this feature, the adapter will connect at 300Mb which is the supported speed for the router. I'm wondering if there is a compatibility issue here with this HT feature. I notice this feature now on these newer routers. This only seems to effect the connection speed and not the data flow.

The 5Ghz adapters are connecting correctly and seem to be stable on my 826L.

Ya, HT only effects 2.4Ghz. Other than this, I think v1.04 is stable and works well. I'll do more testing this week and weekend. I'm off this week. Yay.
