I have been testing usb transfers. I have a 32Gb usb 3.0 drive. Using 5Ghz 802.11ac, connected at 585Mbps. Ok I have a 1 Gb test video, fat32 partition. When copying on usb 2.0 mode, I get 20-23Mbps. With usb 3.0 I get 6-10Mbps. Has anyone tried copying files down to a pc.
-
Can someone else test this out? Ill post the hardwired tests later.
-
How are you connecting to the drive via USB on the Router? Shareport or mapped drive in windows?
Does single mode N do the same thing on 5Ghz and 2.4ghz?
-
Just browsing the local network and pulling down the file.

Mac Book Pro/OSX 10.7.5

Not sure if the router was doing anything to the drive as it drive activity like was going before and during the actual xfers. Could be some router processing effecting some performance.
I can't test AC since the adapter I have doesn't work on MAC...yet. ::)
No differences seen.

I will try to do a full test tonight and post.
-
I'll connect up my DIR-865L in bridged AC mode to the 868L and retest.
-
Try hard wired.
-
Should make any differences if wired. The USB 2.0/3.0 only seems to effect 2.4Ghz Radio from what I read about it.
-
Ran a quick test with my 865L bridged to the 868L, Better speeds however no big differences in speeds between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. :-\
Only tested 5ghz AC mode.
USB 2.0 Selected

Tested last night hardwired. I am going to test 5 Ghz range later. I have most of my devices on 5Ghz.
This is copying from the Dir-868L down to my pc.
USB 3.0 PQI 32Gb
24Mbps USB 2.0
34Mbps USB 3.0

I'll run this hard wired as well...

Wired
USB 3.0 Selected
30Mb READ
17-18Mb WRITE
Wired
USB 2.0 Selected
19-20Mb READ
12-15Mb WRITE
I see there is a difference...

I presume this is what could be expected behavior between the different USB speeds. ???
