;)Hi !
I got a DNS 320 REV B (so i got the lastest firmware because their is only one).
The upnp server is activated on the nas, but no file can be read on my sony bravia kdl 44w5500 even if the media server is visible.
I contact the hotline, but they told me that "dlink does not garanty the compatibility with not dlink devices" ... (...) (..)(.) :o .
It seems also that there is no possibility to connect with ssh on the DNS 320 REV B.
Does anyone has succeded ? If yes, has he tried to install serviio or another media server ?
Thx.

To be able to log in using ssh, you will need to install the FunPlug. There is no way to ssh into the device with stock firmware.
IMHO UPnP/DLNA looks good on paper but interoperability is problematic at best. Search for the DLNA threads in this forum and you'll see what I mean.
PS my own DNS-325 will play music and show photos on my KDL-46HX800 but watching movies is a pain.
PPS Sony is the pickiest DLNA media renderer when it comes to video formats - check your set's manual. My HX800 supports only MPEG-2 and AVCHD.

THXXXXXXXXXX !! You're so rigtht !!!!
I thought it was the opposite : ssh is needed to install funplug !
I try this way and tell you more about DNS 320 B server media (like mediatomb etc..) and Sony bravia !
Thanks a lot !

I also installed Twonky, but movie playback on my Bravia is still a no-go.
This could partly be attributed to the fact, that my whole library is in the iTunes-y AVC/.mp4 format.
Twonky pretends to TV that this is a MPEG2 movie, and even starts to play, but no picture or sound.
DNS-325 doesn't have the horsepower for on-the-fly media transcoding anyway.

Hi all !
I install twonky and it works fine !! Sorry priitv8 if it doesnt work for you.
I just get some little pb to add files to twonky "my library" until I reboot the DSN.
So its great even if I hope that Dlink will had a serious dlna media serveur on the nexr firmware ... :)
Thank you all !! :)

What format are your movies, that play, in?
PS What about surround sound (any luck with AC3 or DTS)?
What about the subtitles?

in fact, I use my "internet box" to play movies... If i try w/ sony bravia, only low quality encoding movies are OK.
sorry not to have answer you before ...

Hi,
Have you enabled the uPnP server on the Router ?
