So, I have searched all over this forums for solution to my current problem. I bought a Samsung G4 and like many other Dlink owners, my galaxy connections is horrible. After reading a few thread here, I came across the news of a new FW 1.37. I downloaded and now I am unable to update. This is not my first update to the router but is my first multiple time fail. No matter what I did, it still failed.
Hard Wire
Plug 1 only use
30sec reset
Unplug modem connection
1 minute power disconnect
Factory reset router (multiple times thru tools/system)
But no matter what, it still fails. I tried 1.36 and also 1.37 (as mentioned above) and no luck.
If is needed to know, I am using my laptop, my desktop is far from the router and unable to hard wire connect.
Thank God for saving the settings.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance
H/W A4, currently 1.34

Do a fresh download and make sure you unzip it.
-
Not to sound like a jerk, but if I never unzipped the file, I shouldn't be here and I also download it multiple times, all of them. So it's not the file.

Please follow this for doing FW updates:
FW Update Process (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42457.0)
The v1.37 fixes the Samsung Galaxy issue.

To furrynutz
That link was already looked at before written this thread.
-
Was looked at however did you follow it? Just making sure is all that the FW was loaded cleanly and correctly and you set up the router from scratch with out loading a saved config file.
What are the WiFi settings currently?
Try using WPA2/TPIK only, 20Mhz Only on single mode G then test N with the Galaxy.
Is the Galaxy up to date on it's OS as well? You might inquire with Samsung to see if there is any specific information regarding this or what OS to use that should work.

@furrynutz
The galaxy has the latest, 4.2.2. I will try changing the settings as you recommend. However, my main question is, why isn't the router allowing me to update firmware, I even gave my administration a password, just so it knows it's a true administration and not a user.

Try to upgrade to v1.35 first?
What browser are you using when you update?
-
I only use Firefox, but I also tried with IE and also tried installing 1.35. At first though the router was temperamental and so I decided to do one update at a time, still gave me same errors with all.
-
What region are you located?
We could try the recover mode and see if it would load FW.
-
By region? You mean like USA, I live in CT.
-
I would try this:
Emergency Recovery Mode (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=44909.0)
Use v1.35 first, if it works, then use the normal method to see if v1.37 will upgrade thru the web page.
