Title: Problems with "new" FW 2.10NA and thoughts (using 2.07 till death) :)
Post by: ak_willy on July 16, 2013, 02:12:24 PM
Wow, again I willingly subjected myself to the abuse of this firmware upgrade. Think I went thru all of the steps recommended by so many to get stability into this thing. I am not going to repeat  it all as this is more of a rant than looking for a way to make FW 2.10NA work. IMHO I wonder about Dlinks firmware writing ability. This will be a major factor in future purchases of their hardware. The unresolvable DNS issues are like banging your head against the wall, (does it ever feel good, why can't I stop ??? ) SO after way to much time and trying most of the different firmware versions, I settled on 2.07NA. Although it to is buggy in that  DHCP registering doesn't function well, at least DNS function appears stable.

Was considering buying a new Dlink but guess I'll wait to read the forums ...  :)

Did you happen to follow this?
FW Update Process (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42457.0)

I recommend using Reserved IP addresses ON the router for ALL devices. If you want to disable DNS Relay you can use this process:
Finding Faster DNS Addresses using Name Bench (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=53222.0)

All version of Rev B FW have been working well for me. Save an odd boot issue that I notice only with my ISP modem. Goes away after 10-15 minutes of being online after boot up:

Other then that, router works well. Even for gaming.
