I am thinking to purchase a UPS to provide power in case of short time power outage.
I checked the DNS-320_HDCOMPATIBILITYLIST_EN, and found some compatible UPS with DNS320 via USB port. Does it means that if I purchased that UPS and connect USB cable from UPS to USB port of DNS 320, UPS could send autoshutdown signal to shutdown DNS320 in case battery would drain?

As far as I know the answer is yes.
We have not tested running individual units on a UPS because we have several large -5Kw UPSs with extended battery power - to run most of our IT equipment. We do have one client that runs his DNS-320 on a UPS and since he has not complained I assume it is doing what it should with regard to shutdowns.

My experience was a little different with the stock firmware:

Now I've installed the FunPlug, updated NUT to version 2.6.5 and configured it so, that my NAS will also shut down other computers on LAN, then shut down itself.
It is very convenient, but needs tweaking the NUT on the NAS and configuring it on listening machines.
2.6.5 is also not 100% compatible wiht the Web-UI on DNS-325, so I lost eg Battery Charge and UPS Status displays under System Info in DNS UI.

Can any APC UPS with usb interface work with DNS-320 ?
