Post by: clem7800 on July 19, 2013, 12:52:20 PM
hi all,
Since the update of the firmware 1.02, I can't access any more my ftp since the browser (firefox, chrome, ie). Since filezilla or es explorer, it works but since browser, I have an error message 553 not allow why? Bug of the firmware? I am the only one? it'es very important for me...

Thanks !

I'm asking if other DNS-320L owners are experiencing a similar issue.
I don't have a DNS-320L to test.

Yes, after I upgraded to v1.02, FTP cannot be accessed.  Even when I tried to access via internal network (i.e. 192.160.X.X) using an FTP Client on my iPad also not accessible.  I used to be able access my DNS 320L using FTP Client Pro on my iPad.

Please help to ask dLink to solve the problem.  Thanks.

i call dlink tomorrow, i hate to buy a nas with bug, a nas without ftp isn't nas

I downgraded back to v1.01.  Can access through FTP, but mydlink app back to original problem = MyPhotos, MyVideos, MyMusic all empty.

Yes, no problems at all.  But I prefer the implementation of v1.02 for mydlink app.

Hi clem7800 & hanslse!

I have the same error message "553 user not allow" when using a browser (e.g. Firefox) for FTP with firmware 1.02 but found this workaround:

The problem appears only when you try to access the root-level of the NAS, like ftp://192.168.1.123.
But it works fine, if you access a network share below root-level like ftp://192.168.1.123/Media   :)

Can you also confirm this?

Funny thing: after you did get access to a sub-folder, also the root works (unless you don't close all browser windows)  ???

Tried your method, and it worked!  Thanks :)

Hi clem7800!

The "Media" is just an example. You need to setup a folder and share it. The error message looks like, you don't have this folder (or don't share it for FTP).

Go to Management --> Account Management --> Network Shares.
Use "Add" to add a new subfolder, assign a user (or a group) to it, with FTP-access.

Then you can access this new folder in the browser with
ftp://192.168.0.200/<new_folder_name>
You will be prompted for user name and password.

In my example the new shared folder had the name "Media".
I can assume that 192.168.0.200 is your NAS' IP-address...
