I'd like to access my NAS via the internet from anywhere. My modem/router is customized by my supplier, so that it establishes an internet connection only, if any device connected to the router requests one. The DNS-320L seems not to do so. Hence, I'd have to have a PC or raspberry pi or such constantly connected.
Is there a way to avoid this?

Looks like your ISP is keeping ports closed. Meaning you can originate network requests from LAN side, but are unable to listen for requests from WAN (Internet) side.
Or are you saying, that keeping your PC or RPi running, allows you to access their services from Internet?
