The dvd/disk that came with it is lost, so i cant use the web ui, and i cant download the web ui from the ftp site because it asks for a login on the dlink site.

(1) Using a web browser on a PC in your LAN, log into the web UI of your router
(2) Go to the table listing all connected devices and find the IP address of the DNS-320
(3) Open a new browser tab/window and enter the DNS-320 IP address that you've looked up in the router table
(4) If you've reset your DNS-320 to the factory default settings then enter: username = admin; password = [Blank - leave empty]

Thanks for the reply,

i held the reset button in for over 10 seconds, and Lost the connection, now it won't show up in the list of attached devices in the router.

Is there anything else I can do?

Try rebooting the router and see if the IP address comes up.

No i still can't see the ip, I can get the name of it on the mac in finder - shared: (dlink-A6A3D1-1)but it won't connect at all, i also tried changing the sockets it connects to in the router.

On windows i can't even see it at all.

You can download the software that came with on the DNS-320 DVD here: http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/
Enter "DNS-320" using the search menus and select the software for the appropriate region where you purchased your unit. (e.g. NA = North America; ww = worldwide; DE = Denmark, etc.)

Let's try one more thing.  Power down the DNS-320, remove the power cord from the rear, wait 30 seconds and try rebooting.

what happens when you put the IP address into a browser?  Can you get to the login page?

the progress bar hangs on the tenth number of the ip address, and never loads the last part.

Since you reset the DNS-320, the username = admin and leave the password field blank.

computer says no  :(

It says I have to enter the correct password or the admin and blank password to progress, but if I enter the blank password it still won't work.

What browser (and version) are you using? IE and Firefox should work.  Try clearing the browser cache and make sure everything is typed correctly.

If you performed a factory reset as you described (holding the reset button for > 8 seconds while the DNS-320 is powered up), then the DNS-320 should be accessible using the default user credentials on the web UI and your HDD configuration should be unaffected.

Is this how you performed the factory reset?
Also, what HDD configuration are you using?
