After trying to backup my photo folder from DNS-325 to another computer I discovered that my source folder from DNS-325 disappeared.
As the copy was not entirely successful, more than 10 years of personal photos gone. Thank you DLINK!
I wonder what kind of disk formating is using this piece of junk and if I can recover my files.

LOL,
I just had a phone call with a guy named Geoffrey. He told me that DNS-325 has no operating system. And that they are sorry but cannot do anything about it, the folder was deleted (thank you, this is what I noticed and I called you for)
Good support.
So to recap. This piece of junk, DNS-325 has the transfer speed of a dial-up modem, has an USB port but you cannot connect a HDD to make backup and when you try to backup you files it crashes and deletes the folder you were trying to backup. What more can you ask from a network attached storage?

though you propably will not come back to read this, for others incase they ever have similar situation:
take the HD out, connect it to a computer with TestDisk (http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk).
You might still have a chance to recover the stuff.
