Title: DNS-320 bitTorrent client
Post by: Symcy1994 on July 24, 2013, 11:58:33 PM
Is there any way to have bitTorrent client on my DNS-320 device?

Was thinking to have it like ruTorrent or something .... I would like to connect on it from any PC connected to internet (out of my LAN), and put some torrent on it to start downloading on my HDD in NAS device.

If that's possible, I would like to ask for some guide/instruction how to do that :)

Any kind of help will be appreciated

This NAS already come with it own built-in BT client, if this doesn't work for you then consider going for Transmission (FFP is required).

As for rtorrent, I have try compiling it for this NAS before but have not try with rutorrent as it require web server with PHP and xmlrpc-c support.

In the case of using the NAS built-in client, all you need to do is to set it up for remote access and you're good to go. It's just a matter of opening up port(s) on your router via port-forwarding, search the forum here for details on the how-to.
