Hi All,
I have been trying to workout a connection with a DIR-615 with a VSAT modem that allows only one static IP address.
I tried using Static IP settings in Internet page in the DIR-615 Config pages, without success.
Any ideas?

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
- If this modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>Double NAT (http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm) and How NAT Works (http://cognitiveanomalies.com/cisco-nat-how-nat-works/). To tell if the modem is bridged or not, look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.0.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged. If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.

Firmware version is C3.03.
The modem is quite old does not have a configuration interface, VSAT tech use a software for configuration.
It allows only one static IP address, has only one LAN port and no wifi.
The idea is to provide wifi to users in addition to some LAN ports for wired ethernet connection.

You may want to use a D-Link DAP model AP in stead I think that would provide WiFi and IPs addresses to connecting devices.
Something like one of the following:
D-Link DAP 1360 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/support/product/dap-1360-wireless-n-open-source-access-point-router), 1513 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/access-points-range-extenders-and-bridges/dap-1513-wireless-n-dual-band-media-bridge), 1522 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/access-points-range-extenders-and-bridges/dap-1522-xtreme-n-duo-wireless-n-access-point), 1525 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/access-points-range-extenders-and-bridges/dap-1525-access-point-mediabridge), 1533 (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/access-points-range-extenders-and-bridges/dap-1533-wireless-n450-mediabridge-access-point)
I remember the days of VSAT and SW based configuration on StarBand.
