Title: DIR-615 & WPA
Post by: mykroft on October 14, 2007, 04:58:45 PM
Upgraded to the above router and can not longer get my Acter 4500 laptop to connect wireless via WPA - WEP works fine

Windows XP Pro with latest drivers/patches - using build in XP wireless client

Machine connects to the router - but never gets a IP - stays at "Acquiring network address" forever only in WPA mode - after about 10 min it comes up limited connectivity and then about a min later trys for IP again

This is what I get in my log:

Oct 14 16:49:40    info   kernel: WLAN: WPA/WPA2 - Group Key handshake successful: 000e35a6927b
Oct 14 16:49:39    info   kernel: WLAN: WPA/WPA2 - PSK authentication successful: 000e35a6927b
Oct 14 16:49:37    info   kernel: WLAN: MLME - Wireless client connected: 000e35a6927b

the way I read that is the key was sucessful but the router dhpc is not giving out a ip - everything else on the lan gets a ip and this laptop will also if I plug in via eth cable.....

Ideas on what to look for - would rather not return to the old d-link router or some other "N" brand and return this one.....

8 minutes to get a IP?  that is unacceptable.....

what is the problem here?

is it also possible to have the GUI use the entire width of the available browser - alot of the lists wrap and make them VERY hard to read
