Title: Bugs in Firmware 1.08
Post by: Geraner on May 16, 2009, 08:46:41 AM
Hi,

In Firmware 1.08 the following is not working.
Advanced -> NetworkAccess
- It's not possible to give "everybody" access to a folder on my NAS without the need to enter username and password.
- When adding users with folder, the created user will not be displayed in the list bellow "SMB list".

What I like so far...
- Power Management - FanControl several settings possible.
- Log function for "system log" and "ftp log".
- FTP Server setting "Allow SSL/TLS connection only" possible

NTP time does not set daylght savings correctly... currently off by 1 hour even though I have it all configured.

Received random logouts while browsing the options.

Scandisk fails on WD 1TB Caviar Black.  refuses to acknowledge there is a drive there after failure, need to reboot for scandisk to see it.  still have not been able to scan.

+1 for DST/NTP problems

I have found 3 bugs so far.

1. The Power LED CONTROL does not work.

2. The FTP SSL/TSL option is backwards.  EX. Clicking the checkbox disables SSL/TSL and unchecking it enables it.

3 The Firefly ITunes server asks for a user name and password that is unknown.

Some of the stuff I've figured out on my own - such as the firefly username and password - both mt-daapd

I posted these in another forum but for Dlink's record:-

1. Daylight saving cannot be set for countries in the southern hemisphere as the pop up calendar insists that daylight saving begins and ends in the same calendar year - this is not the case in many countries where daylight saving starts around September and ends in April of the following year.

2. The "Scheduled Downloads" feature on the DNS-323 is useful however the DNS-323 loses the date and time properties on all files that it backs up and changes them all to the current date and time. Backups traditionally retain the date and time properties from the original files.
Changing the properties on all backed up files to the current date and time makes the backups virtually useless as the user has no idea of the original creation date/time for any of the files.

Apart from the above two issues, everything else went fine with the upgrade.

Minor flaw, but worth mentioning and needed to fixed (shouldn't be that hard); but when running with an UPS (APC Back-UPS CS 350) the System log doesn't hold any entries of power failure or entries when running on battery power only.
