Title: Firmware 1.02 - Router Reboots on Certain Website over Wi-Fi
Post by: Protonic on August 07, 2013, 12:24:18 PM
I recently tried an upgrade to firmware version 1.02 (which became available on August 5th) and have found that the router reboots when I visit a particular web site from my MacBook Pro over Wi-Fi. The website in question is http://www.justin.tv (http://www.justin.tv) and seemingly any other pages on the site. If I go to the website from my wired desktop computer, all seems well, so it seems to be specific to Wi-Fi.

On my MacBook Pro, I have tried both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands in the 802.11n mode. On either band, the router will reboot consistently when visiting the page. If the page stays open in my browser (either Firefox or Safari), the router will reboot over and over until I close the page. I went back to firmware version 1.01 and the problem has disappeared.

Has anyone else experienced something like this with 1.02 or is anyone able to reproduce the issue on the same website?

I had the exact same issue w/1.02. Sporadic reboots, sometimes even constantly, and then rock solid at other times. Downgraded it to 1.01 and the problem went away.

I didn't manage to pin it down to a specific website or device, but what you're describing makes sense, thinking about it it only seemed to reboot when I was using my Macbook Pro. I've never visited justin.tv though so I must have been triggering it with something else.

Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out. How many?
