Title: DNS-321 Doesn't have a valid IP Address
Post by: tekaman2x on August 18, 2013, 07:34:41 AM
Short version, went away for two weeks, disconnected the power from my DNS-321 Hard Drive Enclosure. When I came back powered it up and my computer sees its on the network, but gives me Limited.

Diagnose comes back with DLink doesn't have a valid IP Configuration
Investigate router or broadband modem issues, Failed
 Reset the "DLink Adapter, Completed

Sony Vaio Laptop: Windows 8 Pro
DLink DNS-321 (Not 1tb version)
2 Hard drives: 1TB, 500GB
Tp-Link Gigabit Switch Unmanaged TL-SG1005D
CAT-6 to switch and CAT-5E from switch to Laptop

Tried most common things:
Reboot Laptop, Rebooted enclosure, Rebooted switch
Held reset button for 10 secs to reset enclosure
 Hooked CAT-6 directly to laptop

Can you log into the DNS-321 web UI (enter the DNS-321 IP address into a browser from a PC on your LAN)? Navigate to SETUP > LAN > LAN SETTINGS. Is DHCP Client selected?
