Post by: Ritzie on August 18, 2013, 09:31:07 AM
I seem to have a weird issue. I hooked up my external hdd to the usb port. I seem to loose wireless and intranet when transferring files. The hdd is formatted NTFS. I can get on for a little while then router because unresponsive and has to be rebooted.

What is the Mfr and size of this USB drive?
What kinds of files are you xfering?
What size are these files?
Are you wired or wireless when xfering files?
Any other devices or streaming going on during this process?

When you are xfering to the USB drive are you Wireless or LAN wired using a PC or LT?
If wireless, what radio frequency are you using?

And when this happens, how long before you start the xfer process, does it take before the wireless and internet stops?

So I connected my WD 2Tb My Book 2007 USB 2.0 drive to the 5500 and reconnected everything this evening.

I started a 30Gb data xfer from my Windows 7x32 file server to the mapped USB drive started at 6:11pm MST.

Listening to some youtube music on my Mac Book Pro OSX 10.7.5 connected on 2.4Ghz and doing some surfing while the xfer progressing. Xfer said it would take about 2.5 hours to complete being that it was that big of file xfer size and the speed of the xfer is only doing 3.75Mb max with the drive.  :-\

Still have internet access here at 7pm MST.
