Reason for asking questions and presenting you with suggestions is so that we can get a better idea of what your devices are and set up configuration is like. There are many factors in trying to help you identify the problem. So we as users these questions and make these suggestions and report back on the results. Most of the suggestions do help in getting problems solved.

I do have a minimum basic level of knowledge on how to work with there equipment and some minimal configuration with the use of browsers.

If forum information and help doesn't seem basic enough, then I would suggest that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and talk to someone on the phone and have them walk you through there steps in seeing where the problem is.

Could me that the modem is bad or not working or just not configured correctly. If the Laptop is working at other WiFi stations, then a problem with the modem could be the source and needs to be reviewed by D-Link support people.

Please try some of the suggestion mentioned in my initial replay and see if any of that helps. Please copy and paste any of the suggestion in a reply here and then comment on which ones you tried and if any of them worked or not.

I'll see if I can find a regional D-Link support office that you can phone contact if needed:
