I just connected my USB flash drive to 825 and even installed PC SharePort Utility 3 but it can't find anything.
It seems there's even no way to access the USB drive through web browser which is very bad :-X

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=41537.0)
- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
- Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
- Has a Factory Reset been performed?
- Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates?
- Was the router working before any firmware updates?
What Mfr drive and drive size are you connecting?
What format is the drive using? FAT32 or NTFS?
Try using the newer v4 version of Shareport?

B1/B2
2.09WW
Middle East?
Both LAN and WLAN
No

Yes
8GB USB flash drive FAT32
I tried SharePort Plus v4 but no luck
-
3rd Party Security Software Configurations
- Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Was it working before the FW update?
-
I disabled the firewall and protection but no luck. SharePort 4.20 can't see the USB drive.
I didn't check because the old firmware, 2.00, was very old.

Can you re-format the USB drive using Windows Explorer and see if it will work after that? Save any data off the USB drive first.
Can try this:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=46133.0 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=46133.0)
Power OFF the router, insert the USB drive, then power ON.

I tried but didn't work. It seems I have to ignore the USB port

I would try a different model or MFr USB drive, if that fails, then it's not working and you'll need to phone contact your regional D-Link support office and inquire for help.

Tried with 2.00EU and different USB flash drive but no luck
It seems SharePort can't see the router:

Wow, just installed SharePort 1.20 and it worked after I selected that number from rightclick menu!

I'm using 2.09WW again and no problem.
Do you know the latest working SharePort for Dir-825? ???
I even installed Silex SX-Virtual Link 3.12.0 but didn't work
-
Glad you go it working.
Latest versions is here:

I tried those new versions but nothing works more that v1.20 ???
-
I think they work on NA units or FW and not on EU units for some reason.
If it's working well, then keep v1.20. If your needing new SP versions to work, I recommend phone contacting D-Link support in your region and ask about it. It's been known for a while that some new versions don't work well for EU units. :-\
-
I'm using WW :-\
What's FW? I know NA is North America
-
FirmWare
-
Aha! Already created a new ticket, hope they answer :-\
-
I recommend that you phone contact them rather than email. Email support has been less than helpful I'm afraid. :-\
Keep us posted.
-
But they don't have good support here :-X
-
I gather that from what I hear on other model router boards. :-\
Gotta try. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do from across the pond water here. From what I know, each region handles there own development and testing. ::)

Also having problems with Shareport (SP) after I upgraded my (wireless connected) notebook from Windows 8 to W8.1.
I had problems with SP v4.11 but was using SP v1.20 without problems up to recently (although very occasionally it failed to see a USB device). After upgrading I tried to (re-)install SP v1.2, SP v4.11 as well as SX Virtual Link v3.12, but nothing works, even after turning off the firewall in W8.1.
Is there any work around solution to try? Or is it somekind of setting in Windows 8.1? I use D825 B1 FW2.05EU as a second router in my home network.

Only SharePort 1.20 works but sometimes it causes BSOD. It would be good if we could update to NA firmware in emergency mode :-X

Just installed new FW for the router (v2.09eu, which I found on the German D-link site) and now Shareport v1.20 works fine :D. The other options still don't work (v4.11 & SX), so I removed them.
I hope D-link will provide a more stable solution anyway, because it was quite a waste of time and stressfull to look for possible solutions.....

Glad you got it working. I recommend that if you need a USB Drive or printer to use with the router, as a suggestion and alternative means to using SP, get a USB to LAN network converter adapter for the USB drive or a USB print server device for USB printers and use them on the main LAN network instead of using the USB SP feature.
You'll need to phone contact your regional D-Link support office and notify them about SP not working on your router. Good Luck.
