I've noticed that if I disable "Enable Auto Channel Scan", the router will use only 20MHz mode which is twice slower.
I didn't have this problem with Linksys ???
-
If you disable ACS, is the option to select Auto 20/40Mhz selectable or is it grayed out?
Can you post a picture capture of the WiFi Section>?
-
I can still select 20/40MHz even if I disable ACS but it won't use 40MHz anymore.
It's only about 2.4GHz and not 5GHz.

What devices Mfr and model are you connecting to the router?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer (http://www.metageek.net/) to find out. How many?
-
I just placed my notebook with Intel 5100 in front of the router to check the speed.
I even tried other channels but no luck in manual mode.
-
You'll need to refer the Mfr of the Notebook and or Intel adapter to ensure it supports using 40Mhz.
I would update any drivers for that adapter as well.
Also ensure that any configuration options of that adapter also has user selectable features to use 40Mhz. I've seen it were some options are disabled with in the adapter configuration and needs to be enabled.
Try a different device with the 825 and test.
Be advised that this model router is not supported or marketed in the Middle East region so there could be some compatibility issues seen.
Recommended routers for your region can be found here:

Fat Channel Intolerant is disabled and 2.4GHz mode is set to Auto instead of 20MHz
Most of the products are foreign here so no issue and the firmware is WW, worldwide
-
Does any other 40Mhz device work with the 825?
-
Ok, I just tried TP-LINK TL-WN781ND to connect to 825, same problem like Intel 5100
40MHz only works if ACS is enabled or it won't work
-
This maybe a design factor or requirement with the FW. Regions are different as are the requirements. Older routers may or may not have this requirement as newer routers do.
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and inquire about the behavior of this for your region.
If it works with ACS then I would leave it enabled.
Good Luck.
-
Yes, I even checked with inSSIDer 3. With ACS, I gives two channels like x+y but without ACS, only one channel.
-
Ok, something with the behavior. Phone in and ask about it.
-
Ok, I found the problem. 40MHz won't work on certain channels in manual mode.
For example, 6+10 works fine in ACS while in manual mode, it changes to 6 only.
-
Thats probably true as it uses side channels for 40Mhz...
Does 1 or 11 work?

Nope, doesn't work on 1,6,11 and a few more ???
-
Ok, I think correct behavior is for 40Mhz to work, ACS has to be enabled...
