Title: The client will retain the original identification
Post by: jgraffeo on August 30, 2013, 07:17:11 PM
Thanks for pulling this list together.  Another thing I found.

Bugs (I'm running v1.01):

Under the Network Settings, although you might change the Host Name on the DHCP reservation, sometimes under the Dynamic DHCP clients list, the client will retain the original identification (even after a reboot).

I believe this is the behavior of the handshaking of the router and the devices and what name, if any, is input into the devices host name section. The host name can be changed to the reservation however Dynamically, the name wont or will be what is detected by the router from the host device.

Thanks for the explanation Furry...Not a big deal just difficult when I have a lot of device and a bunch are showing up as UNKNOWN, etc.

Ya, unknown just means that the handshake could not correctly identify the host name and or device modem nomenclature. Happens on other routers too.  ::)
