Hi Guys,
I can connect to the DIR-505 when it is wired in.
However when it is unwired, in either repeater or router mode, I can see the
network dlink-xxxx but can not connect to it. The only error message I see on any device is
"DHCP lookup failed".
Harware version A1 -- firmware version 1.03
I have reset it to factory defaults.
any ideas?

Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=41537.0)
- What region are you located?
- Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
- Has a Factory Reset been performed?
- Was a Factory Reset performed before and after any firmware updates?
- Was the router working before any firmware updates?
Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
- What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
- What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
- What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
- Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask. Link>Checking MTU Values (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=53008.0)
- For DSL/PPPoE connections on the router, ensure that "Always ON" option is enabled.
Is this the main host router or are you using a different main host router? If no, what Mfr model is it?

Hi FurryNutz,
I have a netgear DGN2200v4 that is the modem router.
the 505 has been reset and has no firmware upgrades (it is 1.03).
However, regardless of the network setup, if I put the 505 in any mode
(repeater or hotspot), and power it up, I should be able to reach it by wifi
using the default network name and password, shouldn't I?
I can see it from several devices but not set up a connection. Could this be a hardware problem?
