Title: 500 - Internet Server Error Experiences
Post by: FurryNutz on September 01, 2013, 09:29:27 AM
Just curious if anyone has seen this after your router has been online for a while with out any user interactions with the routers web page for a day or longer then you go back and try to access the routers web page a day or two later and the browser displays a 500 - Internal Server Error message and you can't access the routers web page at all however internet is still working? You have to power cycle the router to gain access to the web page again.

Yep, word for word it's the same exact issue I've gone through. I've gotten accustomed to rebooting it daily before I head out to remedy it.

I haven't seen this issue.  I just logged in to the router now, and before today, I last logged in on Friday (August 30th).

This time it was longer between when the 500 internal error happened, but still strange that it does and my router is running on the newest firmware.  Except this time I am still able to connect to my network wireless-ly and use the WAN connection.  Just weird that I cannot access the router page.

I have exactly the same problem within 3 days of consistently running. Please find the solution in the next firmware release  :(

Does this happen if Media Server is enabled with out a USB drive connected?

Does any browser fail to connect to the UI. What do you currently use to mange the router? I've seen this with Mac Safari and Opera. However haven't seen it since the drive was removed.

Was a factory reset performed before applying the last FW update then one more after that then set up from scratch?

Mines been running well since I removed the USB drive. Media Server is enabled on mine.

no usb devices connected and turned off the media server

Yes I did do factory reset before updating the firmware, and I am going to see how it runs with the media server on and no usb plugged in, even though I have never used this feature

Really dlink.

Does this happend with ALL devices connection? Can you try with only 1 then graduate adding more?

I only saw this when I have a USB drive connected on mine. B04 works well for me.

Try the new Beta?

And you have proof that ASUS is taking over the market share?  ???

Please keep calm sir!!!

So far so good, with media server running no usb plugged in.  I came home today and the up-time was 3 days 5 hours+ and obviously got that from accessing the router page.  So maybe there is some bug when you turn off the media server,

where can I check out the beta releases for the firmware?

Theres no release notes yet but check out the beta form posted last Friday. I installed the beta and connected my drive while configuring and web page would hang often or saw the 500 error. My media sever is enabled now and drive is disconnected and no hangs or errors currently since Sat.
