In the menu of the router there isn't the USB share port for the printer, only USB for external storage.
How can I connect a printer without wireless to the USB port of the router?

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
Just connect the printer to the port and try loading one of these on to your PC:

What Mfr and Model is the printer?

Did you try and load the SP software? I was able to use the software and connect to my hp LaserJet p2014n.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask them which model supports USB printer connections. Here in the U.S., the one model similar to your 636L is the 826L that I have and tested with my USB LaserJet printer and it works with the SharePort software installed. I would confirm with D-Link on which model router that supports USB Printers for your region.

Just FYI,
Unfortunately, from my information I have received from D-Link, The DIR-626L thru 836L series of routers are not officially supporting USB printing at this time. I guess I'm lucky in that the 826L is working for me when I tested it. Normally I don't use USB printing at all, just as testing and reproduction of problems.
I recommend as an alternate suggestion that should work, Install a USB to LAN network adapter or install a D-Link print server:
http://www.dlink.com/us/en/support/product/dpr-1040-wireless-g-multifunctional-print-server-10-100mbs-1-usb-port (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/support/product/dpr-1040-wireless-g-multifunctional-print-server-10-100mbs-1-usb-port)
This will avoid having to use the printer on the USB port on the router and the use of any Shareport SW that may not work well on this particular model router. The adapter or print server will take your USB connection and turn it into an IP address that any device can print to.
Hope this help and let us know what you go with.
