Title: DIR-657 Wireless Signal Intermittently Cutting Out
Post by: aaroncouch on September 11, 2013, 09:33:52 AM
I have contacted D-Link about this issue and I have upgraded the router to the latest firmware, ver. 1.02, completely reset of the router, and changed various encryption settings -- I'm still getting the same problem.

D-Link has been unwilling to work with me in regards to getting a replacement, since there is no proof of purchase, despite me getting it within this last year. And seeing that many others are having the same issues (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=52354.0), and there are so many problems with this router, I'm quite appalled that a company like D-Link would not stand behind such a worthless product.

So what's it doing? Well, there have been a series of symptoms, but most recently it stays connected (according to the computer -- and this happens to multiple computers), but won't load pages. The title says the "signal" cuts out, but the laptops seem to be receiving it fine, so I don't think it's that.

Errors in windows will say things like the DNS Server can't be found or that there's no valid IP address, when this issue is occurring.

I don't really know what other information to supply. I'm really tired of troubleshooting and about ready to go out and buy another router -- I just wish D-Link would stand behind their products.

Also did you get a case number from D-Link?
