Title: Quickly Enable / Disable Triggered Events
Post by: eric.williams.neu on September 19, 2013, 03:29:15 PM
I use Motion Detection to trigger (on a scheduled basis) snapshots and video clips to be sent to an FTP server, set up in "Advanced Settings". I use this to view my apartment while I'm away at work. This seems to work well. Sometimes, however, I'd like to disable the triggers. Is there any way to do this without logging into the Advanced Settings page? I would need a way to quickly re-enable the triggers as they're configured now (schedule and all).

This is probably very simple, I'm just not seeing it.

Do you have the mydlink lite smartphone app? That's the most convenient, as you can change the setting just before you arrive and after you leave.  From the live view, touch the 3 dots at the upper right, go to settings, and there's a motion detection on/off setting there.  But this setting is only supported through the phone app on some camera models. I know DCS-942L, DCS-2310L, DCS-2332L have it, DCS-930L does not.

I use what Gary says.
Or, depending on platform, I have a link to *setup* page, and then I go to *manual motion detect* 'wizard' page where you can toggle motion detection checkbox. It passivates the detection algorithm also for events.
I think the mydlink portal, app and above master setting is probably the same. None of then is very convenient, the app being fastest. It too should have main cam page toggle for it... Or global toggle for selected cameras.
