Title: Resolving Host Problem
Post by: skanungo on September 21, 2013, 12:21:25 AM
I am using D Link DIR 600L router. I have a cable broadband connection (no modem). Whenever I start my PC I have to wait at least for 5-7 minutes for the router to get ready. For such a long time the web browsers keep on showing Resolving Host, no matter what browser I use. After the delay everything works fine.

If I directly plugin the cable to CPU everything works fine. Problem arises as soon as use the net via router.

I have called Dlink Support Team several times and they have accessed my PC remotely and said all the settings are fine and the router is also fine but they are unable to understand why this happening.

I have tried to disable Anti Spoofing and SPI mode in Firewall settings but that does not seem to resolve the issue. In the setup I have copied MAC address and also specifically mentioned DNS. I have tried with some public DNS as well as the DNS which my ISP has provided.

Please note that I am absolutely novice about these router settings. Please help me. Thank you in advance.

My Hardware version is Bx and firware version is 2.01.
Previously it was 2.00. Dlink Support Team provided a file to upgrade the firmware. Still the same issue. Also with this firmware version I am unable to check the router's log file as when I click STATUS tab everything becomes ghost.
