Title: port forwarding issues
Post by: jorix3 on September 23, 2013, 07:16:29 PM
Hello everyone,

I have a DGL-5500 and it seems I'm having problems configuring port forwarding to open ports 7171 to 7175.
I have in the past been able to open ports easily on routers such as linksys. My process is going to advance> port forwarding> application name > tcp/udp 7171-7175> always/allow> save settings. After those steps, the services i want to run are not working. I also tried the website below to check for port status and it showed as closed.

What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
A1
Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
1.10
    What region are you located?
USA

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
Cable
What ISP Modem service link speeds UP and Down do you have?
50/10

Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router.

Thank you for the suggestion provided. A firewall setting was blocking the inbound traffic on the specific port i wanted to open. This issue is now resolved.  (:

Was the firewall setting on the router or else where? If you could be more specific about this for any future users that need help in this are.

Glad you found the fix. Enjoy.  :D
