Hi,
I recently upgraded from a DIR-655 to DIR-836L router. The DIR-655 was totally stealthful when probed by GRC Shields Up. The DIR-836L is not totally stealthful when probed. Is my new router at risk? Can I update router settings to make it totally stealthful without compromising performance?
Also, have noted that firmware v1.04 (2013/4/29) is available on the website. When I log into my router, it displays firmware v1.02 (2012/11/09), and when I click the 'check now' button, no new updates are found. Also, v1.02 does not appear on the website. What gives?
I also recently purchased a DAP-1525 AP/Bridge, which I have set up as a wireless bridge. I expected it to appear as a device on the NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS page. I think it does not appear there. Should I be able to see it there at address 192.168.0.50?
Thanks for your help,
Ken Schmidt

Sometimes there some server discrepancies on the auto updater.
I always recommend users to review the latest FW version ON the main web sites per your region.
v1.04 fixes any uPnP security issues.
Please review this if you decide to udpate:

Not sure if when in bridge mode it should appear. I believe it may not appear as .50 however it may appear as a different IP address. I have seen with with other DAPs and DIRs in bridge mode.
