Title: Shareport didn't work in windows 8.1 x64

Shareport didn't work with windows 8.1 x64/DIR-655 revA.
The sxuptp driver is not compatible with 8.1 (I have tried several versions, 3.0, 4.1 and 4.2).

You'll need to phone contact D-Link support and see if they are going to update SP for windows 8.

I had the same issue and after 45 minutes on the phone with D Link Tech Support, they hung up on me. I found the solution on a different forum. I am posting it here for the greater good. The Shareport software was designed by a company called Silex. Go to this link http://silexamerica.com/campaign/sx-virtual-link-downloads/ and download Silux Virtual Link for Windows. Extract the folder contents and run Cosetup.exe. You can use that in place of the Shareport Utility or uninstall it once you have confirmed sxuptp has been updated through the Device Manager. Thank for sharing. Hope it helps users with Windows 8 versions. D-Link I presume will be forth coming in making SP more compatible with Windows 8.

Had troubles also since upgrading to Windows 8.1.  Installed the SX Virtual Link and worked right away!

Excelente!!....ahora mismo lo probaré, tengo el mismo problema con un Router Belkin!!...(Excellent!!!....I have the same problem with a Belkin Router, I will install it right now!!)...Thanks a lot!!

SP is a D-Link proprietary program that only works with D-Link routers. SX Virtual may be a more compatible program for use with other Mfr routers. Please refer to the routers Mfr sight for help and information. Thank you.

Hi,

We just installed a D-Link L7-N-R2000 yesterday. We'd like to share an external hard disk to all computers that connected to this network.

I'm using Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and I already installed ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/SOFTWARE/SHAREPORTPLUS/SHAREPORTPLUS_UTILITY_4.30_WIN.ZIP but when I start the SharePort Plus application, they couldnt find any device. May I know why and how to I solve this? Thank you in advance.

Would you confirm the model # or nomenclature of this unit? L7-N-R2000 is not a familar model number...

I'm from Malaysia and the I think the nomenclature for the device is DIR-614. Thank you.

What is the size of the USB drive? Official supported sized is 500Gb using NTFS formatting. Try a small drive or flash drive as a test to see of something small works.

3rd Party Security Software Configurations

What FW version is currently loaded on the 614?

Right now Im trying a 16Gb Kingston flash drive using format NTFS.

I dont have any 3rd party anti virus. I only use Windows Defender.

H/W Ver: A1
F/W Ver: 1.05TM

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
