Title: Dir-655 connecting to wireless clients
Post by: tschnier on October 05, 2013, 02:36:53 AM
Hi

I have a 655 with a few PC and a NAS attached on ethernet, and a Raspberry Pi plus Android phones on the wireless network (all with fixed addresses reserved in dhcp).

The problem initially was that the XBMX remote control software on the phones could sometimes not connect to the xbmc server on the PI. So I put a PING tool on the phones, and found that sometimes, it was impossible to ping the PI, even though the PI and the phones were happily playing content from the web and from the NAS device. I also found that sometimes the phones could not ping each other - in each case the result was 'no route to host'. I also tested from one of the PC, and found the same problem: sometimes it is impossible to ping the PI. In one test, I had ping running on the PC (no reply) and then used the PING tool built into the router. As soon as I started that to the PI, it worked, and the connection from the PC started working at the same time.

The router is running 1.37 NA, with WLAN partition set to OFF.

Any suggestion?

Thank you
