Title: SSD drive in DNS325 ... or any other.
Post by: Superzar on October 07, 2013, 10:34:06 AM
I've searched the web and can't find any confirmation from anyone that installing an SSD SATA drive in this NAs would work.  These drives are kind of expensive so I'd hate to be disappointed.  And before you comment, no it's not about trying to increase speed.   I use the NAS to collect video recordings from my Axis IP cameras.  The problem is the NAS goes to sleep, and when it wakes up to record the first few seconds or so are bad because the disks have not yet reached full speed.  I'd rather not leave them running 24/7 for 2-3 recordings per day.  An SSD would obviouly solve this problem provided it was compatible.  Thanks to anyone with input ...
