Post by: deca66 on October 19, 2013, 11:12:46 AM
Hello,

*updated*
I have my DNS-323 since years now. I have installed fun-plug so as to be able to connect by telnet.
But I do not remember how to connect now (I can connect through the web interface). Does aynone could help ?

Thanks

Assuming you are running windows, open a command prompt or in the run box type "telnet {hostname or IP address}"

Then log in.

deca66 - there is no telnet server running on an "unhacked" DNS-323 - the web interface is the only way to configure it.

dosborne - not all versions of Windows have the CLI telnet client available on a normal installation.

I have telnet, but it doesn't work : "cannot open connexion on port 23".
I remember I had install fun-plug and all that stuff (http://dns323.kood.org/howto:telnet#installing_telnet (http://dns323.kood.org/howto:telnet#installing_telnet)) but I do not remember how to connect now.

What can I do now ? Resetting ?

An update. I can now launch putty. I give the root user/pwd. It seems connecting to the device, but after, putty does not give me the prompt. I have the good passwd (I can connect through the web interface with it).
After connection, putty tells :
<<
Could not chdir to home directory /home/admin: No such file or directory

BusyBox v1.00-pre1 (2009.05.07-06:36+0000) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

>>
Then nothing.

Any ideas ?

I think you need to recognize that you are running software on the DNS-323 that was not developed by D-Link, and is not supported by D-Link - you would probably get better results asking for assistance from the provider of that software.

Disappointed but received.
