hi guys,
i got this camera a few days ago, and now have lumps on my head from banging it against the wall in frustration!
I'm hoping that all the issues im seeing are user error, apologies in advanced if they are.
Here are the points id like help with.......
1-is it possible to have two different image settings, one for day and one for night? Image quality is horrible.
example, heres what i see with brightness set to 3 and IR off.
During an overcast london day

In the evening with IR on and brightness at 3 with the street lights on, clear sky and full moon. (it was pretty bright outside)

i assure you in reality daytime is not that bright and night time is not that dark where i live. but so far image quality is near unusable. The camera is about 8ft from ground level.
2-why do i keep getting emailed alerts with .log files?
i dont have logs enabled in any of my event settings but am getting flooded with them! i read a tip on the forum of adding an 18 second delay between events, so i did. whilst it reduced them it didnt fix the problem.
3-why do none of the Dlink apps work as advertised?
i purchased the mydlink+ app as well as the lite one. the lite app has this screenshot in the app store, but i cant see it anywhere in the app. is there a way to activate the playback screen?

4-Im up to date on Java but cannot get the web interface for the camera or my dlink working properly in any browser (safari, chrome, FF, opera) on a mac.
im using a windows machine to configure detection zones, which isnt ideal. i downgraded java on one mac to v6 and still no joy. im sure this is broken at the Dlink end, but will assume its me being not clever for now.
5-why is the audio so far out of sync with recorded video?
ium currently seeing a 10 second lag at times, sometime its minimal, but is always there.
6-whats with the weird video codec used for recording?
or is it that 5/10 of my videos are corrupt? even on my windows machine some of the videos just freeze after a few seconds or only play audio.
7-Why is the image cropped sometimes when i set the quality to HD?
This inconsistently happens, and i have no idea why.
This is my first D-Link product, and im not sure ill own another.
I hope that these points are either my fault, or are being addressed.
I anyone knows of anyways that i can remedy some of them please let me know!
Thanks again

#1)
page 54/55
http://www.dlink.com/-/media/Consumer_Products/DCS/DCS%202332L/Manual/DCS_2332L_A1_Manual_v11_US.pdf
for night mode, switch auto exposure to "low noise" and adjust the gain.
I have to do this manually on the 2230. I'm not aware of any way to automatically do it, but it has been requested around these parts.
#6)
download VLC media player - it should be able to play even the most corrupt files.
#7) examine settings in page 56 of the manual.

Hi Ryat!
thank for taking the time to reply.
I'll respond in order;
1- i cant do that, heres what i see in my options. Exposure is always greyed out, regardless of what else i select in this window.

6- VLC is what im using, on my mac and my windows machine.
7- verified that my frame and capture res are the same but it still happens. its not the end of the world, but is definately a bug.
and considering how many bugs this thing seems to have for something that ive spent £250 on, im not all that pleased.
Thanks again for the reply though! : )

aha!!!
just noticed if you turn off anti flicker that menu becomes available!
nice, thanks again!

A note on nighttime images -- this camera has only one infrared lamp for nighttime illumination, and as a result its after-dark images are pretty poor. If you want a clearer nighttime image, you'll either need to set up a separate IR lamp, or choose a different camera.

Hi there,
just to add, ive found the night time image so poor on my well lit street, i dont use the infra red mode anymore.
I find it much more useful to just have it running as normal at all times.
