Title: Can"t find volume_1 any more
Post by: oloos8787 on October 20, 2013, 10:41:25 PM
Hi all

Desperately need some help here, all my personal files are stored on DNS-323 Raid1!

I used this storage for a while now. All was good, then one day it failed to connect. I use Easysearch and can map BT partition and access Bittorrent files,  no problem. But main volume does not show up no matter what I do. My RAID 1 is degraded, as second HD does not boot up any more. But first HD seems to be doing fine, I just can't find it with Easysearch any more, besides the BT partition.

I can still log into the DNS-323 via HTML and configure it, no problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using Win 7 and 1.10 driver version.

Did you try adding a new HDD and then rebuilding the RAID-1 array?

This may unintentionally come across as salt in an open wound, but RAID-1 is not considered a backup for data. Please see the following link: DNS-323 - RAID-1 is NOT a Backup (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=52503.0).

I have not tried rebuilding with a second HDD yet.

It appears, that my issue is exactly same as this "Volume_1 replaced by bt":

Only I have RAID1 and not RAID 0.

I had same problem, but with RAID1. Logged into Configuration and did master reset. I was able to see my Volume_1 again! What a relief!

You can breathe a sigh of relief, but more importantly you should use this as an opportunity to create a backup of your critical data. RAID-1 is not a backup: DNS-323 - RAID-1 is NOT a Backup (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=52503.0).
