I don't have favourite add-on for my dns-320l because it doesn't support addons at present time... As far as I know...
-
My favourite add-on is Twonky and/or miniDLNA media server.
The only add-on making the DNS-320L usable :)
-
Exactly the same, MiniDLNA rules! I've got Twonky and MediaTomb as well, but MiniDLNA supports subtitles so it's my choice. Another one would be Transmission with WebGUI (replacing biult-in P2P tool).

ES File Explorer

ES File Explorer
ES File Explorer Android app ??? or Pydio, formerly AjaXplorer
-
would be good to install a team speak 3 server.
-
Hello and Merry Christmas :)
Telnet Application would be great too !!

Yes, it supports addons in an unofficial way. Look for something called "fun plug"
-
But my favorite would be
1. ssh + a minimal shell script support (unrar, rar, unzip)
2. git server for (at most 5 clients)
-
why transmission is listed as an add-on? its the built-in p2p application (d-link just obfuscate the name), not an add-on.

On other ShareCenter models (DNS-325/345) the app is a true add-on and D-Link is still treating this app as such. Integrated or not, the app functions semi-independently and is updated/developed/maintained like an add-on.
-
This also needs a Media server as the DLNA support is a Joke
Twonkymedia or plexmedia most other nas drives have these as standard

i am sorry, where can i get the add-on apps?
i am unable to find it in the dlink website.
I try to google and the result were this forum.

I see this is a vote for the DNS-320L, I have the DNS-320 plain no L,, where can I get info on what these app's Do and how to install them?
I did like the Ajaxplorer BUT it just disappred off my NAS and I don't know how to replace it, or maybe get a better APP that allows more control of shares, I don't see a way to restrict certain folders and files other than R, W D access. for the whole volume, Any help in setting something that would work for me would be great,,
Please reply as to any guidence and sujestions of what I need to install or recommendations..
Thanks, John

The DNS-320 does not support the uploading of separate add-ons. The add-ons included with the DNS-320 are bundled in the firmware. It's possible that you disabled the AjaXplorer add-on, so it's not showing up.

Same here. I've spent quite a bit of time trying to find out what these apps do. And likewise my google search sent me to this discussion, which again doesn't tell me at all what does what.

The add-ons are available at the D-Link Taiwan download site: http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/

I followed-up with D-Link and they added the DNS-327L add-ons to the D-Link USA FTP site.

I vote for AjaXplorer and Transmission but my priority is for the first !
Unfortunately, i've got a DNS-320LW and it doesn't support add-on applications (Maybe one day, please !! :)). I don't understand why this configuration could be proposed in this thread elsewhere ???

would be good to install a team speak 3 server.
uMurmur (http://code.google.com/p/umurmur/) - analogue team speak 3

Telnet daemon (http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/#utelnetd)

Twonkymedia or plexmedia most other nas drives have these as standard
Mediatomb (http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/#Mediatomb)
PlexMediaServer (http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/#Plex)
Serviio (http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/#serviio) (required for operation Java7 (http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/#java7))
Twonky (http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/#Twonky)
xupnpd (http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/#xupnpd)

I'm using My surveillance, witch is great.
Not in the list is Plex Media Server
Also not in the list I have Google Drive sync, but unfortunately it doesn't work anymore. Can't find it in the Add-ons and can't delete it either. Would have been nice to have a kind of backup system for all the "cloud" drives like Onedrive, Dropbox, KPN, Google drive.

Hi,
i own DNS-340L and i dont see alot of information on this.
can i safely assume that if the add-on apps is compatible with 320L, it would be fine for 340L?

Having read similar threads/questions I wouldn't assume the addons are cross compatible.
Also see this link http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/ (http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/) but I'm sure the addons listed are also listed on this forum.

VPN (OpenVPN) or VPN PPTP clients would be great. :)

And didn't the OpenVPN Community server and client are not one? They differ only by a text configuration file and certificates/keys.
Kernel drivers tun.ko unfortunately there is only for v2.6.31.8 & v3.2.34. For new firmware with kernel v.3.2.40 (DNS-327L f/w 1.04 & DNS-340L) not yet done.

Hi, I own a DNS-320L sharecentre, and I am trying to install the Plex add-on located here: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=61384.0
So far I have been able to install fun_plug successfully, but am unable to proceed further. Could anyone please tell me how to install the Plex add-on (or any other add-on) once I have downloaded the file from this website? Any links to any guides?
Not well versed in Linux, so pleased to have made it this far!
Thanks

You don't need fun plug for any addons on this forum - AFAIK funplug is not supported here although others have it for other addons
To install Plex - login to the web gui (enter IP address in web browser) then enter password
Click "Applications
Click "Add-On Management"
Click "Choose File" browse to location of downloaded addon and select
Click "Apply"
Accept the message when asked and wait about 1 min
After installation make sure it's RED in Start/Stop
Then go back to "Applications" and click the icon

Hi, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the DNS 320L doesn't support add-ons natively, hence why I am trying to add them using fun plug.
I've seen a number of add ons released on this site for my device though so I'm sure there's a way to use them, just not sure how!

I gave you instructions on how to install Plex - the same instructions can be used for any of the add-ons on the following link
http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/ (http://dlink.vtverdohleb.org.ua/Add-On/)
I understand it's a learning curve and that sometimes instructions/advice are written in terminology that basic computer literate people do not understand (no disrespect to anyone meant). That's why I gave simple instructions in my first comment so that you can follow the step by step guide.
If this has failed it could be down to funplug and as I've never used funplug I'm not sure how to use it correctly that said I did read somewhere that to disable funplug you just need to access the main folder structure and rename the funplug folder to example oldfunplug
If Plex still doesn't install by the instructions given in first comment - can you explain where (at which part of the step by step) are you having issues?

Thanks for your help. My main problem was that the "Add ons" option in application management was never present - I assumed this was to do with the type of device I had.
I have since upgraded the firmware of my device to 1.04, and the "Add ons" option has thankfully appeared!
Thanks again for your help, I've now managed to install the app I needed.

Happy you got it sorted
Plex is OK but depends of file types.. there will be restrictions using Plex but it's a good start and a great media library
I've stopped using Plex and just installed Kodi(XBMC) on my PC, Tablet and Phone - I prefer the Media Browser and I use the tablet to stream from 320L direct to my networked Home Cinema System - the only thing I need to fix is "sharing the database" but I've hit a brik wall there
