Title: Router Issues
Post by: RevoOR on October 27, 2013, 08:09:38 PM
Hello having an issue and can't figure this out. I have had many routers from other brands and my first Dlink. So I have Charter Cable Modem, Connected the 605. connected to my computer via a cord made the setup that lets me access the internet. Then to trouble shoot for the last 4 days I have had it only connected over the cable. Then today I tried to access the router with my iPhone V4 and said it couldn't connect. Then Setup my laptop over Wireless and after it connects the router has no Internet access. Only way to set it back to have Internet access is at my PC next to the router. So now I have a big issue. Everytime I try and connect over Wireless it turns off the Internet Connection????? I can access the Router over wifi through admin but for some reason it kicks off the internet.

Access to internet only after I set up over the PC via cat5 cable.
If I try and connect with my iPhone over wifi it denys and turns off internet
If I setup laptop to router over wifi I connect to router but internet turns off. I can access the router over the wifi but can't get it to reconnect to the internet unless I do it via PC over cat5.

Computers tried to connect to Wifi Acer Aspire One 255, 255E and 257, Compaq 5000 Also 2 Desktops One with a Linksys PCI wifi card one with USB wifi. All these computers have been working on my Phone service DSL wireless router with no issues.
Phones, 2 Pantech, 1 iPhone and Samsung SIII again all working over the other service that is going to be turned off next week so I need this Dlink to work over my Cable service without issues so my family stays happy.

Thank you

Hardware Version    : Ax, Firmware Version    : 1.14. D-Link DIR-605L
Modem; Cisco Model DPC3208 HW 1.0 Date of Build 7/13.

Charter don't support any other Wifi unless it is their own. Then you pay a 40 setup charge and a 3 a month fee for the router. My problem is I don't like using a router that I don't have control of and admin password to in case I want to change SSID or something like that.

What really bothers me is that when I try and make a connection with my Phone or a Wireless item the D-link stops internet access. If I don't get this figured out before the time runs out I will just have to go and get some other brand. I just like the ability to have the mydlink to view my Cams. However don't work if I keep loosing internet. Right now they are still linked to my other Service. And haven't even connected my NEW PTZ cam I bought at the same time as the D-Link because of the Wireless issues. Like to make one thing work before I try and connect other new items.

Thanks in Advance
