Title: Why errors in wireless statistics?
Post by: karas on October 16, 2007, 03:22:39 PM
Hello
Did anyone know why in wireless statistics errors are? I have default settings of router. Is it possible that the errors are made by router firewall?
Thank you for your answer

I'm having the exact error but my connectivity has been fine so far, since its initial deployment two days ago.

The further away you are (add extra distance for walls, pipes, the fridge, etc.) the more errors you get. I am quite certain that the errors are "transmission errors" and not "hard-wired errors" (though they might be both added together you are unlikely to get errors out of your ethernet cable (unless it's really long)).

A small number of errors is to be expected, these are detected and the packet is re-sent. Lots of errors is not correct, you would want to e-mail tech-support in that case.

What bugs me is that when I reset the stats I start with a few errors (instead of zero), that doesn't seem correct.

Don't forget the K,
Rob

Hello
Well my laptop is about 5 ft from router and my router really far from all stuff like fridge. Yes the router is about 1 ft from wall but i have wood wall not concret. My cable which is connected to the modem is that which was in the box with router. Since my router was rebooted 1day 22h i have 9574 errors on wireless statistics and every 1 or 2 sec is added new one error.
