Title: Accessing Internet with DIR-655 as Wireless Access Point
Post by: fordor on November 06, 2013, 07:51:01 AM
I have a D-Link DIR 655 router Rev A3 firmware 1.11NA that I'm using as a wireless access point on my wired network. I'm trying to use it to connect my Nook Simple Touch EBook to the Internet . I'm using WPA2 personal encryption and I set the DIR-655 to a IP of 192.168.1.251. My Nook can connect to my wireless network fine but it can't access the Internet after a time unless I turn the DIR-655 on and off. Anyone else have this problem? Would a firmware upgrade fix it?

Do other devices connect thru the 655 with out problems?

I also have a WDTV Live Plus media player that connects to the dir-655 via a Netgear WN2000RPT Range Extender being used as a wireless bridge that connects to the Internet without problems.

I might presume that your Nook is the problem if other devices can connect with out issues.

If you turn off all Wifi security on the 655 temporarily, does the Nook connect then? Turn back on after testing.

There is more recent FW out there, v1.37 if you wish to give that a try. If you do, please follow this:
FW Update Process (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=42457.0)

If this fails to resolve your issue, I presume there is a problem with the Nook.
