Title: iPaq Wi-Fi connection
Post by: prattjo on October 17, 2007, 03:26:45 AM
After installing the router with firmware 1.02 Everything worked fine including the iPaq hx4799 wich is 802.xxb. After upgrading to the 1.05 firmware this device does not connect to the network.
Any Ideas?
Thanks

Are there other wireless devices that can still connect to the DIR-655?  What mode is the router in?  mixed ng, mixed nbg?

I'm not sure what the 1.05 is doing, but as a test, change the mode to mixed g and b getting rid of the N function and see what that does.

I did that and it didn't help. I reverted back to firmware 1.03 and everything works fine.

Thanks

Can't speak for an Ipaq, but my PalmTX (11b as well) connects
fine to my 655, though only when operating in b&g only
mode (probably in b or g only as well, but don't want that).
If I go to b/g/n mixed mode, it will not connect, in fact it
won't even see the network (even in WPA only mode).

I'm running w/WPA-TKIP on the Palm, WPA-PSK enabled on
the router, auto WPA or WPA2, and running in 'invisible'
mode.

FW version is 1.05, HW is A2.

Now if only I could get my linux laptop to speak 11n _and_ get
the router to and the Palm to talk when it's configured in b/g/n
mode I'd be truly happy.....

At least I'm back to where I was on the DI-624 before it died on me.
