I am planing on purchasing a d-link router for primary LAN Gaming(xbox360) and LAN video streaming.
I want to know if the DGL-4500 is able to run a stable connection, (i cant afford to drop out of games.) if so which firmware should i stay on.
the other router i was looking into was the DIR-825.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
JAY

i also use my laptop (mostly with a lan connection) to download music and movies and games. but not while i'm playing my 360, but occasionally i go wan with my laptop if i'm in my kitchen or something.
i just want to have a stably router that can give the me the game fuel feature.
quick q. i hear a lot about the random resets, does it reset the whole router or just the wireless?

I have had nothing but problems with this router and its firmware issues. I use XBL and PSN a lot and have had random network issues mid game.

Version 1.20 has proven to be a catastrophe (see this (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=5580.0) thread).
You may be OK on a previous firmware. The DGL-4500 looks to be an excellent router, on paper. We're all watching to see whether DLink takes care of us. If not, I'll be making a lot of noise on the most prominent tech forums.

f/w 1.02 worked very well for me when gaming on a PS3. Sadly I upgraded from it about a year ago and have been kicking myself for it ever since... very, very bad mistake on my part.
If you were allowed to go back to a previous working f/w there would no doubt be a lot less complaints on this forum.

Great Router, works great with gaming systems never had any problems with xbox live psn or wii online.
Fact there are F/W problems with 1.20, the last good stable F/W was 1.50

I've had zero problems with this router and gaming. It has worked flawlessly for me. Never needing a reboot. I'm using firmware 1.15 if I remember correctly. I can be downloading some 20+ gigabyte files, uploading torrents at several mbs and be gaming on my 360 and have no problems. the experience will be identical to when I'm not downloading or uplaoding anything else on my network, which is perfect.
I have 50 devices going through my DGL4500 with no problems.

Flash to 1.20 and see what happens to your connections. :o

I have nothing but problems as well, have this router for the past 4 months and wouldn't recommended.
I came from a Linksys WRT54g v2 from year 2004 and never had a prob with that one.
I just bought the new Apple Airport Extreme Base Station Dual-Band I recommend it.
Sorry my first D-Link product and left me down!

Theres loads of complaints here in HK about this router and Dlink has started blaming it on the ISP's now.
