Title: "Check Online Now for Latest Firmware Version"
Post by: jclarkw on November 19, 2013, 02:30:05 PM
Does this feature, reached on the Web interface under Tools/Firmware, work properly?

I'm in the North American region with a DIR-645, H/W version A1, that originally came with F/W 1.01.  The F/W page tells me I'm currently running F/W Version 1.03, Time 10/09/2012 18:23:00, although the actual date on the firmware version 1.03 that I flashed several months ago appears to be 2/25/13.

When I tell it to "Check Online Now for Latest Firmware Version," it reports, "This firmware is the latest version."  D-Link's support site, however, says the latest F/W version for my device is 1.04 (build 10, dated 6/11/13.  I was about to flash this new version, but now I'm hesitating... -- jclarkw

I presume it does however the source server that keeps the upgrade builds may not be populated or have the most recent versions. I always check the main site and manually upgrade FW, if needed. Seen it where using the Check Online can hose things up.  ::)
