Hi,
I recently explored how the email option works in Tools -> email settings. DIR 615 E4 Firmware v5.12
Router is connected to my ISP and ISP has also provided its mail account. So I specified the ISP’s SMTP server address, Port 25 & my logon credentials in authentication. Other info like ‘To’ & ‘From’ is also populated. 'From' holds my ISP provided email id & I attempted to send mail to my Gmail as well as Yahoo mail id.
Gmail simply refused to accept the incoming mail stating it’s Spam & not RFC 2822
Remote host said: 550-5.7.1 [203.187.192.25 11] Our system has detected that this message is 550-5.7.1 not RFC 2822 compliant. To reduce the amount of spam sent to Gmail, 550-5.7.1 this message has been blocked. Please review 550 5.7.1 RFC 2822 specifications for more information.
Yahoo, The mail is received on my Yahoo id, however the field ‘To’ just mentions Undisclosed Recipients & ‘From’ is blank. Same is the case even if I send it to self on ISP domain email.
As such in general mails sent from email clients like Outlook Express thru my ISP's SMTP are properly relayed to Gmail & Yahoo and received.
For me this is not critical, however would like to know if I need to check or correct anything else to fix this? Thanks..

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
I recommend that you phone contact D-Link support and ask for level 2 or higher support regarding this...Let us know what they say.

I wrote an email to the helpdesk mail id provided on D'link regional site giving all necessary details with attachments etc. The response was to call up the technical support on phone.
I called the phone support and their estimated wait time before someone could connect with me was about 30 minutes!! I guess this issue is not worth that much wait time :)

Good Luck.
