Title: NAS suddenly disappeared on network
Post by: joelgoodman on May 25, 2009, 10:09:38 AM
We had a power outage last night that turned my 321 off. This morning I went back and restarted it. I have the unsupported Hitachi drives (which I really haven't had a problem with yet and just found out were unsupported) and so had to do a web gui restart.

Everything came up fine, I grabbed the files I needed off of the drives and popped open iTunes and connected it to the remote library on the device.

Listened to a whole song then halfway through the second the music stopped and the remote drives disconnected. I tried the static IP I had set for the device and was given the standard Apache welcome screen (note: I've not installed a web server via funplug or anything).

I tried restarted the thing, the tall blue light goes solid, the HDD lights keep flashing blue. I get no web gui, the Easy Search can't find anything on the network... I'm not sure what happened. Especially as this thing stopped in the middle of my using it.

Has anyone else encountered this or have a thought? I searched the forums for awhile but didn't find anything like this.

Thanks!

Addition
I also just tried connecting it directly to my laptop's ethernet port and still get nothing... thanks again for any help you can offer.

Alright. I think it fixed itself. somehow. Did a reset from the button on back w/o drives. put drives in. Did another reset... and now it seems to be working. have to redo all of my permissions and such... but? I guess it works...
