I've had my DNS-325 for over a year, installing it but never used it as I wasn't able to successfully mount the drive and have CrashPlan back it up.
I'm now trying to set it up again for backup use - and have RESET it (using the pin in the back of the housing) - and when going through the Setup Wizard, nothing shows up in the Devices box (where one would select the device to setup).
Win7 O/S
1. Anyone have any clues?
2. Can it be setup w/out the Wizard?
Thanks,
Terry

Can you access the DNS-325 by entering the IP address in a browser on a PC located on the same LAN? Does the DNS-325 have a fixed IP address? If you are using a static IP address that falls outside of the IP range of the router, the Setup Wizard may not find the device.

No, I cannot access the DNS-325 via the browser.
I have now given it a fixed IP address that is inside the range of the router.
When reviewing the "Connected Devices" list on the router, the correct MAC appears w/ the "reserved" IP address, but in the listing of "Offline Devices".
Router:
Xfinity-supplied "all-in-one"
Arris model: TG862G/CT

It sounds like you were able to setup without the wizard. If possible, would you please give more detail. In the wizard, my select a device screen is blank and I can't get past it to the next Configure Device IP screen.
Outside of the wizard in the D-Link Storage Utility screen, all the boxes are also blank. I can type numbers in for IP, Netmask, and Gateway but I don't know what to choose. When I enable DHCP and click the connect button I get a warning to please select a device in the above section.
Does the DNS-325 start up with a default IP address that I can atleast ping? I'm only using one hard drive in the right bay and the white light is lit. But I'm not sure that I am even connecting to it.
I'm plugged into a ethernet connection that connects to a hub that IT controls in our corporation. So there may be some firewall software blocking me. Can I plug the DNS-325 directly into my laptop using a USB connection?

Warmwinds - I just gave up and unplugged mine.
Sorry I can't be of help.

Let's not give up just yet. The Setup wizard is not required to use the DNS-325. Everything that the setup wizard does can be performed manually. In fact, I never used the Setup Wizard to configure my own ShareCenters.
First what do you mean when you say you can never successfully "mount the drive"? Do you mean you've never successfully created a network map on your Windows 7 PC?
