Title: DCS-5222L Telnet and/or SSH Login
Post by: kallunkija on December 12, 2013, 07:34:18 AM
How do I login to my remote webcam using telnet and/or ssh to its Linux OS.
IP of camera shows ports 80 http, 443, https, 554 rtsp and 7777 ? are listening.
I need to reboot the Linux of this hung up camera (and it is remote unmanned).
It does respond to ping so Linux OS, drivers and some processes are obviously still running.
Thanks
John

For as far as I know it is not possible to access the cam with Telnet/SSH.
The only way is using the web-gui or the dLink app.

So, http://camIP/ or https://CamIP/
Make sure you are not trying to connect with an filtered-out IP address.

If the cam hangs, the only solution is to power cycle it.

For DCS-52222 rev A1 camera FW:
For example if cam is at IP ~.9, turn on the telnet daemon service in the camera with:
http://192.168.1.9/cgi/admin/telnetd.cgi?command=on

Next telnet to the camera with:
telnet 192.168.1.9
< cam name> login:

I tried namr root and password admin but that did not work
I hope someone out there knows a name and password that can be used.

For DCS-52222 rev B1 camera FW:
The
http://192.168.1.XX/cgi/admin/telnetd.cgi?command=on
command was refused and I was not able to start the telnet daemon.
Anybody have a solution?
Thanks John

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
