Title: DIR-855 Unable to access or change settings in the web console
Post by: Lawdmuk on December 23, 2013, 04:45:08 AM
DIR-855 AL Firmware 1.12 (default)

Currently the web console will not respond to any mouse clicks, the settings on the left hand panel do not display, when I am able to get to a setting using the tab key and make any change, when the save settings button is pressed there is a message popup that says no changes have been made.
I have restarted the router several times, no change

Before I press the factory reset button are there any other suggestions?

3rd Party Security Software Configurations

Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Many Thanks

Yes it was the browser, my current PC has IE 11, I used my laptop with IE 9 and everything worked correctly

Does the latest firmware upgrade support IE 11

I presume that compatibility between the FW and Browsers are the issue thus the reason IE version have the compatibility mode. The FW hasn't been updated in a while and is using older code. FW for this unit will not be updated since this model is no longer being developed and has been phased out. However at least browsers are making it so it works with there programs.  ;)
